Light Bites Interview With Jennifer Metcalfe
So, firstly… if my scrolling of The Daily Mail has told me anything this week, it’s that the wonderful Jen has given birth to a little boy! When we were chatting a couple of weeks ago, we were both moaning about the fact the end of pregnancy seems so long and she was looking forward to labour and meeting her little arrival so it’s great to hear she’s fully immersed in mummy hood now.
Secondly, I think it’s important I mention Jen’s probably one of the loveliest people I’ve interviewed (especially seeing as she was so heavily pregnant and well within her rights to be as hormonal as me right now) and having a natter about pregnancy with her was like chatting to a pal. No frills; more how hard it is to shave your legs when you’re the size of a hippo and how as you inch towards due date, you’re so stuffed with baby, there’s little room for actual. food.
My main reason for speaking to the fabulous actress was Light Bites, a snack sold exclusively at Superdrug and what’s become a total staple for her. I was sent a bundle myself which I mentioned in my previous post and while I’m always a bit sceptical about so-called healthy snacks and anything which is meant to be a bit of a go-to when you’re on the move, I’ve genuinely found them really tasty, both savoury and sweet options (and I’ve had to wrestle them from Milo’s clutches on the regular which I’m not proud about but y’know… I was only sent a selection… I needed to eek them out).
You can watch our interview here (this was actually the second one we did because the first one failed to save AND we probably spent a bit too much time just eating the Light Bites in front of one another to get through all the questions in an appropriate time). A lot of you sent in questions for me to ask her… along with a lot of you just getting in touch to say you loved her bum (I made sure to tell her), so thanks for taking time to message. I know birth plan-wise, Jen was intending on taking some of the snacky options with her in her hospital bag for post labour and I’ve kept a few aside for mine too; the sweet and smokey chipotle popped chips are being wheeled out most days and then if I’m after something sweet but not wanting to binge on a huge bar of chocolate then the strawberry and apple fruit chips are ideal.
So, I hope you enjoy the little chinwag and genuinely, despite this being a sponsored post; I would and will happily stock up on Light Bites out of choice. For something healthy they’re full of flavour and not cardboardy in the slightest. If you need something you can just lob in your bag so you’re staving off the dreaded pregnancy hanger then these are where it’s at and they’re a total bargain at under a pound.
Thanks so much again to Jen for chatting to me about Light Bites & why she loves them. Hopefully she’s sat there with a box just within reach while she enjoys the early days with her little one.
Again, this post is sponsored!
