Jennifer Metcalfe & Pregnancy With Light Bites
One of my real bug bears as a pregnant person is being told you ‘don’t need to eat for two’ and only ‘actually need one extra Mars bar a day’. As pretty much anyone growing another human will tell you, it’s tiring work and you’re ravenous from when you wake up to when you go to bed; especially if life requires you to be active and you’re burning off energy at the rate of knots. So if you want to keep yourself happy (and upright) with regular nibbles then more often than not the hunt’s also on to make sure where they can be, they’re healthy.
This week I’m chatting to one of Hollyoaks’ finest Jennifer Metcalfe, who’s not far off giving birth to her first little one. She’s teamed up with Light Bites, a new snack brand sold exclusively at Superdrug, to promote how brilliant they’ve been for keeping her on the go with their gluten-free chips, fruit bites and health bars and in turn, they also sent me some of the range to try.
Ordinarily, I borrow my two year old son’s toddler snacks when we’re out in the bag because I know I’ve always got a batch in my handbag, however these are an impressive alternative. You’re not wondering where half the packet went (they pack those chips in) or left underwhelmed by the flavours… everything’s tasty, the packaging’s eye-catching and most importantly, it’s convenient.
I suffered severely with hyperemesis during the first almost five months of pregnancy and I know Jen struggled with sickness too. A huge part of trying to keep you ticking over is actually scoffing stuff, at all hours of the day, and I think if you’re someone worried about piling on the pounds or not giving baby what it needs, then Light Bites are a really lovely snack suggestion to try out. The fact these are simple, packed full of goodness & small enough to slip in to a handbag is good enough for me and I’m happy to get the word out there (can’t promise your existing children won’t try to steal them off you though… I’ve had that happen a LOT over the past few days)
If you’re interested in sending over a question for Jennifer ahead of tomorrow’s interview then just pop it in the comments section and I’ll fire away!
Again, this is a sponsored post but I’ll only promote products/brands which I think are worth doing so/which we use as a family.
