Cracker Sutra With Laughing Cow – Date Night?
Let’s be frank here, Valentine’s Day/date nights; we always start out with the best of intentions but very often babysitters cancel, your little ones decide to be poorly or… well, you just can’t honestly be bothered. Long gone are the days of spontaneity and flouncing off for a steak dinner, now it’s all about getting cosy in the living room with a well deserved (massive) glass of wine/beer and watching something on the television without being asked to load Old Macdonald on the laptop. On YouTube again. With one of those awful high pitched sing along videos AGAIN.
So this year, I’ve teamed up with Laughing Cow, who’ve brilliantly decided to go a bit bold for Valentine’s Day and launch their Cracker Sutra gift boxes for couples to enjoy together (these won’t be available to get your mitts on just anywhere, these are big boxes of fun created exclusively for the day of romance). It’s fun, it gives parents a great excuse not to go out and have a date night in the living room instead and with this in mind, I’m giving away two of their #SnackLove parcels, complete with ingredients for a cosy night in.
It’s super simple, all you need to do is head to my instagram and leave your snack recipe of choice under my Laughing Cow image or pop me a tweet over. I’d personally would go for something with a bit of a sweet kick (living with an athlete means we don’t really have much junk food lazing in the cupboard so I have to grab a treat where I can); something along the lines of maple syrup, pecans, cinnamon and HELLO, THE CHEESE. Laughing Cow themselves have got a great bunch of snack and meal ideas on their website (you can find them here) for inspiration and it takes the ease out of cooking when you know you’ve got stuff sitting in the fridge ready to go. I’ve already had some great responses (a lot of them are ‘I’d eat whatever I can’t eat in front of my children while they’re awake’) and there’s still plenty of time to have a think and join in. I think it’s really important to try to make time for ourselves as couples aside from just parents but it’s not always easy and this is just a really silly, jokey bundle to get creative with from the comfort of your own home.
I’ve included an image of a suggestion the Laughing Cow gang have already put together at the top of this post but go all-out crazy on your toppings and accompaniments and I’ll be picking a winner over the weekend. There’s some certain saucy names to go with these recommendations, tying in nicely with the Cracker Sutra theme, however I’d wholeheartedly suggest eating first and then delving in to some new positions. No-one likes crumbs in bed. Cheese, maybe. But no crumbs.
