I’m one of those people who used to really like handbags. I liked buying a fresh one, not having a vast array of biros and crumbs at the bottom; the smell of the leather, how shiny it looked. And then I became a mum and the shift from bog standard handbag to changing bag meant that I suddenly had a whole new thing to get hung up on.
Changing bags have a function! And compartments! And little add-ons like roll out mats or bottle warmers, it’s so exciting! So, when Milo came along I have to admit I didn’t just treat myself to one bag, we had a few at the ready. A couple of less cutesy ones for Greg, backpacks, holdalls, mini purses, the lot. For different occasions, outfits etc. Yes it sounds excessive but after 9 months of feeling annoyed that everything I wore had stripes (what is WITH PIRATE MATERNITY WEAR) I felt like I needed something fashionable to get my teeth stuck in to, and changing bags is where it was at.
Today I’m going to chat about one of the brands I especially adore; PacaPod. Their designs are practical, stylish, inoffensive and, crucially, they don’t look like a changing bag. When we just wanted a light, easy option for mini trips out we used our Hasting Driftwood and it was perfect for throwing on my back or sliding under the pram. No bulk, not busting at the seams, just a stylish knapsack which Greg wasn’t disgusted at wearing either (in fact, he even wrote about how fab they were and posed for a snap on their site. Note how he didn’t have eye bags prior to Milo).
The best part of their designs for me is that you get a whole load of features to each bag; even the smallest of products include things to make your life easier such as pram clips, cool bags and mats. And even with the brighter prints, they don’t go garish. No cupcakes, no frills; just bright and funky (I’m allowed to use the word ‘funky’ now, because I’m a mum).
With all this in mind, I’ve teamed up with PacaPod so that you can treat one of your pals to one of their newly launched Colby tote bags in Ember. I’ll be running the competition across my social media channels and all you have to do is tag a friend who you think deserves it; a bit of Friday love! (Although, I’ll be running it through to Sunday, so plenty of time). If you have a pregnant pal or just someone who deserves a treat then tag them in the comments section on Insta, Facebook or Twitter and include the hashtag #PacapodPal and I’ll be picking a winner on 21st! I’m lucky enough to have been given one of the Colby’s myself and I love it (obviously). It’s roomy, so I can keep Milo’s stuff AND my keys/purse/pointless tat safely stashed away and now he’s a toddler, an endless supply of toys/distractions; it comes highly recommended. Plus, who’d turn down a BRAND NEW CHANGING BAG?
Be a good Pacapod Pal and throw someone a rouge treat, even if only so you get in their good books for a while.
